709 Tasting Notes
One of the first I chose from Davids Tea several months ago. Very mild, mostly tastes like honeybush. I think it would do nicely mixed with some Three Lemon or with one of their mint teas. Further experimentation required!
Nonetheless, it’s a perfectly nice tea. A little boring, but was great for me as a beginner.
Preparation
Oh my goodness, I am on my third steep of the same teabag [Edit – I don’t really mean teabag, I mean looseleaf tea in a t-sac because I’m at work and it’s easy!], and it is really still quite strong. I am quite impressed. Until recently, I wasn’t much of a re-steeper. Right now, I am doing the math on the many lost cups of tea. : (
Anyway, the tea is definitely starting to lose it’s zing – I found the mint to be more mild and the flavours muted, but it’s definitely drinkable. Three steep limit, I guess!
Preparation
First steep for first work tea of the day. Warm and smooth, with an undeniable sweetness from the rooibos (Can’t miss it!). The mint comes in nicely, and sort of with a vanilla-esque flavour, as opposed to the bold mints I know David’s Tea to use. When I’m feeling like some mint but worried about heartburn (Terrible that my favourite flavour can be so cruel to me) I can turn to this. Delicious iced or hot, with or without rum!
Can’t wait to re-steep when this cup is gone. Yum yum!
Preparation
This isn’t what I wanted to drink, but I only have one left of my preferred tea, so I figured I’d give it a go. I steeped a much shorter time and threw in a bit of raw sugar to try to enhance the apple and minimize the chamomile (which now that I’ve tasted I know I don’t like). Learning experiences!! Anyway, the titch of sugar took the edge off the chamomile. I should bring in my honey from home as I prefer it to sugar, but ah well. Still a lovely tea.
Preparation
Wanted a nice warm (but cooling!) mint tea this morning after arriving at work. My breakfast tea (apple) didn’t come out as nice as I’d hoped so I went for ol’ faithful. As always, this tea didn’t disappoint. I wish the water had been hotter but when you sit at reception they don’t let you toddle off to boil water, so I make do with what’s available.
Delish!
