Had this last night and LOVED it! What a pleasant surprise. When you open the bag you see little pieces of popcorn and what looks like nuts, and the aroma is strong and buttery. Then the flavor is really excellent -like a smooth and sweet butter pecan almost. I’ll definitely reorder this one and it was fun to have while we were watching a movie!

First sip…. ahhh, comfort. Notes of honey, and a spice that while mild feels like it would relieve congestion. It has some flavor I can’t place but reminds me of something familiar… I could see myself drinking this all day when I’m not feeling well. A perfect tea for a gloomy, rainy day in the District.

Delicious. Smooth, with a slight grassy flavor and a natural almost-caramel sweetness. It doesn’t really seem like black tea… more like green, but with the sweetness of a high quality black.

Update: then I steeped it too long and it definitely tasted like more normal black tea. It is MUCH better steeped correctly.

This tea is a winner. It smells as nifty as it tastes. How is that you say? How can something smell or taste nifty? Try this tea, with its toasty coconut and creamy banana flavor, its deep black tea and caramel tones, and you’ll find out. :)

Becoming a fall staple. :) I enjoy it especially when I’m outdoors in the crisp weather.

The scent is really strong, the tea not so strong. I would have loved to see more almond flavor in this. When I drank it when it was very hot, I tasted more of the almond. I also thought that adding milk brought out more of the almond flavor. It was a pleasant tea though.

Tea reminds me of home and family. Black tea with milk and honey was a gift of love growing up.

I’ve since gained an appreciation for Japanese green tea and matcha, chai (brewed Indian-style in milk with a very strong black tea and spices), Kashmiri tea, and tisanes. My tastes definitely have broadened since I stopped having sugar in my tea.

Since joining steepster, my world has been transformed by Laoshan Black 1st Picking – can’t believe an unflavored tea can taste like cocoa! It made me wonder what the black tea I’ve been drinking all these years is. My current favorite is Metropolitan Tea’s Cream Earl Grey.

I also have really enjoyed the tisanes – especially Roasted Almond by Capital Teas, which I keep bringing with me to share with others.

My tea tastes are also heavily influenced by the places I’ve been… ginger tea reminds me of Southeast Asia, sage tea reminds me of Syria, very strongly brewed black tea reminds me of Iraqi family, milk chai reminds me of India… I love to rekindle the tastes of places, from home to far away, in my cup.

Loves- matcha, rose, cardamom, bergamot, saffron, almond sencha green, cinnamon, ginger, and chocolate.

I do NOT like chamomile, rooibos, genmaicha, or flavored green tea, and I have an odd relationship with hibiscus, oolong, and licorice (I like them only on select occasions).
