From Verdant Tea

Fine buddy white tea with old-school jasmine scenting

Wang Yanxin’s iconic wild Yunnan white tea blended with night jasmine blossoms has been one of our most popular teas for over a decade! Notes of luscious creamy jasmine, honeyed peach, cardamom, and whipped cream.

This spring harvest pre-Qing Ming white tea is traditionally scented and made with Da Bai varietal white tea. This white tea is not sprayed with artificial oils or aromas. Instead, it is dried together with fresh jasmine blossoms scattered among the buds, allowing the natural aroma of the jasmine to absorb over several days into the tea itself. The process of adding fresh wild Yunnan jasmine blossoms is repeated six times over six days to get a full rich and creamy infusion that holds its intense sweetness and natural potency over many steepings. The creamy dessert-like Yunnan silver needle white tea is the perfect delicate pairing with Lincang’s local luscious jasmine.

This is good! I like it as much if not more than the jasmine greens I’ve had.

Casually drinking though this not my favorite tea but the jasmine is way more pleasant relative to other scented teas I’ve had in the past. I can taste the bai hao yin zhen through the scent which is nice as lower quality teas in the past made my head hurt and stomach churn from the intense jasmine. I would recommend gong fu this guy unless you really enjoy jasmine then try your luck with longer steeps.

I think the theanine in this guy is pretty high and I felt dopey and numb after a session of this and a lao cha tou this morning.

Didn’t pay enough mind to really rate of give any notes I enjoy verdant’s hong and bai cha though and will probably only order those types of teas exclusively from now on.

I received a sample of this one with my recent (and first!) Verdant Tea order, and brewed it last night. It filled the kitchen with the jasmine aroma and reminded me and my family of summer (we have “raat ki rani” plants in the backyard that bloom on summer nights). I could still smell traces of it this morning.I’m giving this a high rating because it is an excellent jasmine tea, both aroma- and taste-wise.

However, to be perfectly honest, this tea wasn’t for me (though I’m glad I tried it). I now know that I prefer green tea with jasmine to white tea with jasmine. The green tea leaves hold their own a bit better against the jasmine. I love the delicate, light flavors of white tea and unfortunately, I couldn’t find any of them in my infusions of this tea. The jasmine was just too overpowering for the white tea to stand out.

I don’t think Verdant Teas has any green tea with jasmine at the moment. But I would be eager to try that if they do end up stocking it in the future. I have been impressed with every tea in my order that I’ve tried thus far.

The best jasmine I’ve had to date. From the 5 for 5 sample.

When I first tasted this tea, I thought the jasmine was too over powering. But it may have been because I had not sipped on jasmine tea recently. As I started to experience the cup of tea, I noticed the jasmine was not overpowering, but the taste of the tea complemented the Jasmine so well it was hard for me to separate the tastes. I imagine the tea was grown near bamboo, because as I sip the tea i notice the smell and taste which arouses a scenic garden with bamboo and flowers in my minds eye. The flavor profile has Jasmine (shockingly), sweet grass, and a sweetness reminiscent of blueberries. It has grown into one of my favorite Jasmine teas.

I got this very fresh since I preordered it a month ago. Then, I wasn’t sure if it was my water or the very fresh scent of this tea that was giving it soapy taste. But I gave it a month to mellow out a little and it really paid off!
Gong fu-ing this today and it is so strong, sweet and floral that I could just die! Even my tea avoiding boyfriend tried it without complaint, and said it was good and very lilac-y! To me the jasmine is just as luscious as I remember, but a sweeter, almost pink lady apple, or maybe a light apricot flavor is remaining in my mouth! It’s just fabulous!
It’s seriously like cotton candy on my tongue right now, it just won’t quit and I never want it to!

This tea is truly outstanding. I got it from verdant’s five for five deal for new customers, and I’m sure I’ll be ordering some more of it. The first thing you’ll notice if you sit down with a cup of this tea will be the aroma. It smelled almost heavenly, and the scent definitely brought back memories of all the times I’ve had jasmine in my life. Sipping on the tea, the most prominent flavor would be the jasmine. It was almost like drinking a cup of flowers. The tea could also be tasted, and was certainly of a high quality. There was a surprising amount of sweetness, but not overwhelming. It was sort of like someone stirred in just the tiniest drop of honey to it. The way it felt in my mouth was almost like diluted honey as well, it was thick and smooth. There wasn’t even the slightest hint of bitterness or any other taste that could be considered unpleasant. This is certainly a tea I would reccomend, in fact it might be a new favorite of mine. I’ll certainly be ordering this with my coupon within the next handful of days.

I received this as my first order with Verdant, part of the 5-for-5 deal for new customer. I love this tea, I’ll definitely be purchasing more.

Leaves: Long fuzzy silver leaves, very light, floral, and fragrant.

Taste notes: very delicate, the Jasmine flavor is very light and nice. It has a natural sweetness to it, I definitely wouldn’t add anything sweet to it. Perfect on its own.
