2021 Sipdown 111/365!
Another sipdown courtesy of the great 52teas inventorying project that I don’t think I previously mentioned. I’m done, by the way… I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 different 52teas (Anne era; Frank era is separate); some have multiple entries on my spreadsheet (reblends), and a handful, I believe I lost to the work mouse 3 years ago and didn’t properly record, but am not entirely sure yet. A lot of teas, regardless, but it’s nice to know what I have. (Apparently, quite a few versions of Pancake Breakfast and Mayan Chocolate Chai, and no surprise bonus packages of my favourites, all of which are sitting at one cup remaining).
This tea was a tiny sample package in an order; a strange combination but one that I kind of liked. I had a very busy day and really can’t remember what it tasted like, aside from green tea/jasmine/cacao in a pleasant… melange. Perfectly happy with the two-cup sample of this tea; although I enjoyed it, it’s not one I’d seek out.

I love 52teas, one of my favorite companies. I wonder how many different blends I have? I never inventory my tea.. Hmm..
It’s crazy for me to think that I’ve actually blended anywhere near 250 teas, but if you think about it: in June, we will reach our 7th anniversary. We blend no fewer than 52 different teas a year (granted, some are reblends, but there are at least 52 different teas a year – including those reblends) which means that a minimum of 364 different teas have been blended or reblended – and sometimes, I do blend a VIT or a special reblend request (for example, I just reblended the Honeyed Lemon Black Tea at my mother’s request) – that’s a lot of teas! Wow.
tea-sipper – a 52teas fan, subscriber, and also a tea hoarder. Ahaha. I find it difficult to sip down faves, and don’t get through non-faves quickly because I have so much tea… hence, the huge number!
Tiffany – I’m curious!!
52Teas – It is crazy, I know! That’s a lot of teas over the years, but does make sense when you do the math. Do you keep track of which teas you reblend, and when? And also – you forgot about the 12 teas of Christmas, which adds another 12 or so teas a year (I know some are also part of the weekly teas, so maybe more like 10?).
Kittenna – I really wish I have kept track of them better – I do have my archive of blog posts and such (that was a painstaking thing to do – when my previous website began failing on me earlier this year – I transferred all those blog posts to the cloud so they won’t (hopefully) be lost. Also – I have my spreadsheet which shows all the teas of the week that I’ve blended since I started (but it doesn’t reflect any VIT or special request reblends – or the rewards blends – which is where the blog posts come in handy because those show VITs and special blending events – but neither reflect the consistent reblending of D’s Teas) basically, I’ve been a busy mad tea artist. :)
Ultimately, doesn’t really matter – and definitely is consistent with being a mad tea artist, haha!
When I was inventorying my teas, I used all sorts of random sources to try and organize/date the teas so I’ve have an idea of how old things were – found tons of old emails (newsletters and invoices), Steepster posts with info, but it was spotty at best. I regretted not dating teas as I’d received them, but I’m trying to do so now!
It is an odd-duck mixture, isn’t it? (But my conclusion was the same—it’s pretty tasty!)
jaw drop! You are a 52teas fan! I don’t feel like such a hoarder now. :D

Wow. Go you! That’s quite an achievement. And a lot of stress and pressure. Well done, Anne!
