This is a really lovely pumpkin chai blend. Nice balance of spices, with a really nice level of squashiness. I like the touch of orange rind as well.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Clove, Licorice, Orange Zest, Pumpkin

Decided to purchase a couple of the Piper & Leaf samplers- they have so many unique sounding blends and I couldn’t resist trying them.
This is not a flavor profile I usually like in tea. Particularly the chocolate, which is more often than not painfully artificial tasting. This was a pleasant surprise though! The chocolate was not plasticy or artificial at all, and the mix of berries was a nice compliment. Can definitely taste the most strawberry, with a touch of raspberry.

This is such an interesting blend. Tastes like a redwood forest. A smoky redwood forest. Slightly fruity, but mostly quite earthy. Not an everyday kind of blend, but definitely something unique to have occasionally.

Flavors: Cedar, Pine, Smoke

I know I’m in the minority with this blend, but I still really like it. The clove and rose are both so strong, but I like the combination. I enjoy drinking it around Halloween time, but once I finish off this bag, I don’t know that I need to repurchase it anytime soon.

Flavors: Clove, Perfume, Rose

Haven’t really been able to connect with this tea. It’s much more woody than I want. Wet, dark wood. There’s also a slight bitterness- like baker’s chocolate. Probably going into the swap pile.

Flavors: Bittersweet, Dark Chocolate, Dark Wood, Wet Wood

Sipdown 66 – 2024

Strangely I never wrote a tasting note for this. I remember really liking it and saved the last little puck. Just brewed it up at work and didn’t love it as much as I thought I did. It’s slightly floral and woody, but a bit underwhelming.

Ended up enjoying this so much I purchased some. Not the cheapest tea, so I’ve been enjoying it sparingly, but it’s just really lovely and brightens my mood. Highly perfumed, and smells absolutely incredible.

Probably not something I need to purchase again. Slightly smoky. Tobacco, sesame, cinnamon.

This cup is a bit overwhelming in flavor and is giving me a bit of a headache, so I think I may have overleafed the cup a bit.

A bit underwhelmed by this. The genmaicha is nice, but the spice level is lacking. Maybe I didn’t shake the bag enough?

Cameron B.

Also, how could they not name it Genmaichai?!

truly a missed opportunity!
