I’m extremely sleepy this morning. My husband tricked me into going to a dinner party last night which honestly didn’t last too late into the night. But I got home so buzzed I couldn’t sleep until 1 in the morning. He of course passed out right away.

Had this cold steeped tea to cure me from my zombie-like state. I’m really beginning to enjoy whites a lot more than before. I think cold steeping may extract less caffeine because it doesn’t give me that headache I usually get. As a result, I drink more and relax more.

This particular white is fragrant with fruity coconut. I don’t usually think of coconut as fruity, but sometimes it is. Here, it’s fruity and creamy and very tasty. Love the fuzzy little leaves and pretty splash of color from the flowers. I think I prefer the coconut oolongs but this is definitely a light and soothing treat.

Thank you Azzrian for making my morning less foggy with this yummy tea

Thanks whatshesaid for a surprise sample of this tea! Coconut teas are hit or miss for me and I’m afraid this one is a miss. For some reason, every time I take a sip I get a soap flavor. Not really what I was going for. I feel a little bit like Ralphie right now and I didn’t even say fudge!

[Head nod to those who get that reference :-)]

Nicole

Did it taste like Lux or Lifeboy? :)

TastyBrew

Ha ha! Totally Lux.

Would you believe I only watched that movie in its entirety this Christmas?! I loved it! It jumped way up to make it onto my list of movies i must watch annually :)

Last cup of tea for the night. Thanks Alphakitty for this sample! This tea smells entirely of fresh, soft coconut. There is really nothing artificial in the smell, and it reminds me of the aroma of coconut water. The flavor is very vegetal to me, but is followed by a fresh, true coconut finish. The flavor becomes a lot more mellow and smooth as it cools, and it looses some of the white tea flavor. I’m enjoying this cup right now and am glad I got a chance to try it, but I don’t know if I would add it to my list to purchase. Maybe a small pack to have a cup of every once in awhile!

-Dry blend has large fuzzy green tea leaves, slivers of coconut and small blue and orange petals.
-Dry leaves smell faintly of nutty coconut. Tea liquor aroma is of soft fresh coconut.
-Tea liquor is a bright medium yellow color.
-Vegetal flavor with a real coconut finish. Smooth mouthfeel.
-Best with sweetener.
-Very good tea. Light true coconut flavor that becomes more bold as it cools.

Wow Azzrian this is superb, thanks so much for sharing with me!!
The coconut is strong and almost hides the tea flavour… but I don’t mind, being a fan of the fruit! It is also creamy, more than I expected. and sweet. Mmmmm! What a treat. This would be great iced I think. Thanks again Azzrian :)

Thanks to whatshesaid for the sample!

I liked this more than I expected to. I am not a big fan of coconut flavor, but the coconut in this tea is very natural and well complemented by the creaminess. The base tea also comes through nicely. I got two good steeps out of it, with the second revealing greater depth and complexity. This won’t go on my shopping list, but I would recommend it to coconut fans.

thank you again Amanda for the super generous tea package! I really appreciate it! I knew this one would be tasty when I saw it! I think I need flavors in my white teas to like them more anyway. Coconut cream sounds good! And it is. You can still taste the flavor of the white tea behind the flavors, so it’s a nice balance. The white tea here is delicious anyway, so it doesn’t really need the flavors to be enjoyable. But I really like the coconut cream too. The coconut isn’t one of those odd chemical flavors — it’s sweet! Very yum! The flowers are pretty too. Probably a favorite white tea… I said I didn’t have many flavored oolongs the other day but I don’t think I have many flavored white teas either!

Thank you Emilie for a sample of this!

I enjoyed this one. It was light and fresh, mild tasting but very obviously coconutty.
I admit I don’t know what white tea really tastes like because I’ve never had it straight up, but it seems like a good base for this blend.

I’ve never heard of this company before so I’m glad I got the chance to try this tea, might just order some one day!

My temperature was all screwed up because I’m at work and I thought the kettle was almost boiled (I was trying to guesstimate 82 degrees) but turns out it wasn’t plugged in properly so it was more like 49 degrees, haha. I added more almost boiling hot water to it in an attempt to compensate but I do have enough left for a properly brewed cup at home so I will do that!

edit I wanted to buy this so bad but they charge $28 to ship one oz of tea to Canada :(

Sil

persimmon tree is the absolute worst. In part i think because they package everything in cans. i was able to buy once from them waaaay back when and unless i’m shipping to the us, won’t be ever again

ohfancythat

Such a shame!!

Emilie

That’s ridiculous! They only charge about $5 for US and shipping prices between US to US and US to Canada aren’t that different. Their teas are pretty good, so it’s a shame that shipping is so ridiculous

OMGsrsly

What the what. That’s worse than Culinary Teas. :/

Another tea from my Persimmon sample purchase. I’m not really crazy about this one either. It’s ok, just ok. Nothing awful about it (it doesn’t have the odd taste I was getting in some of the fruit blends). It’s flat to me, that’s the best way to describe it. Not coconut enough, not creamy enough, and I think the white tea is just non existent. I added a splash of milk, that helped but I’m still not thrilled. Sorry, really wanted to like these teas, but they just aren’t for me.
