“2020 harvest I don’t remember much about this. A lighter, fruitier Rou Gui. Roswell Strange’s note has more to offer than my impressions which have slipped into oblivion.” Read full tasting note
“Gongfu! It’s been a little while since I last had a really good Rougui and this one is hitting all the right notes. A sharp fruity sourness to the top of the sip, like tangy fruits or even roasted...” Read full tasting note
Good high mountain material with a classic charcoal roast. The farm is located in the hills above Chengduncun village (程墩村) at an elevation of 640 meters. The dry leaf has a rich tea fragrance. The gaiwan lid is fruity, and the soup a dark orange with old tree fragrance. This tea can start a little slow, but picks up speed and energy.
Note: Previous years we called this tea “premium rou gui”. I am changing the name to better describe the tea.
