What a lovely, dainty black tea! I also was lucky to sample L’Anniversaire courtesy of MissB. If I didn’t know which ingredients were in the tea, I wouldn’t have been able to single out the mint, let alone anything else including the rose petals (and I love rose petals). Keep in mind, I sweetened it with stevia which obviously affects the flavor. Delicate, creamy, fruity and well-blended, this would make for an elegant choice for a social get together.

4321 tasting notes

This sample was given to me by Dinosara. I didn’t look this one up prior to trying it, I figured I’d just get on with it and be surprised. :D The dry leaf is mostly small black tea leaves with what looks like dried crushed mint mixed in along with a few flower petals. My nose tell me that it is indeed mint in there. I did a 3 minute steep at 200 degrees.

Well, this basically tastes like mint tea to me… I don’t really get much of the black base, but there is a touch of raspberry flavor. Looking it up, the concept definitely doesn’t fit this one. I mean, who has ever heard of a mint birthday cake…? And I don’t get any sugary or cakey notes here, just the (somewhat mild) mint with some raspberry mixed in. Not bad, not great, just ho hum. And not a cake! :P

Oh this is so nice on a cold afternoon! I chose to drink about half my cup before looking at the description. I picked up a smooth black base with a fruity mint finish. The mint is a subtle taste that blends well with the black base and the fruit is just a slight hint to the finish of each sip. I do not detect floral as the description hints to. I would get a tin of this if ever the opportunity presented itself. Thank-you for sharing.
