Hibiscus Splash (Formerly ME to WE Kenya)

This tea is my absolute favourite iced tea and has been for quite some time. I first tried this tea when it was the TOTD during the summer and fell in love. It smells sweet, almost like fruit juice and tastes like juice or kool-aid without all of the sugar. I get hints of cranberry and cherry. I also love this tea because the profits go to charity which makes me feel better about buying it. I’ve since picked up a 100 g tin and then another 100 g when that ran out. This tea is definitely a staple in my collection and I will for sure repurchase when I run out. It is just so tasty and refreshing.

Cold Brew!

Y’know, it’s actually been much longer since I last steeped this tea up than I thought! It’s one of the fruit blends that DT carries that I generally think of as one of my favourites to drink iced or cold brewed but I think it gets a little less love than some of my other favourites and I’m not really sure why.

I sipped on a giant mason jar of it during my lunch break today though and I absolutely loved it. There were a lot of very good advent teas today, but this was probably a favourite just because it was so classic and familiar and I felt a little like I was rediscovering an old friend. Just all that melted cherry popsicle goodness!

I was really excited about this one because of how it looks and smells. My first surprise was that this tea brews very red. My initial reaction to the taste was that this tea is exactly like Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Zinger tea. Surprisingly, there is no raspberry in this tea so maybe it is apple I am tasting? husband says it smells like red kool-aid. I would like to try this tea iced but think ultimately this one rates as nothing special, just ok. 9/5 – I tried as iced and it is better, but I agree with husband, much like kool-aid.

This is like fruit punch…with stevia. Darn stevia creeping in and ruining all the things.

Im giving this tea a 100 rating because it is out of this world. It’s a shame its a limited edtion tea and will be gone next year. I hope they keep it. This tea to me resembles a nice refreshing Hawaiian Punch. There’s so much fruit flavor to it and its just so refreshing on a hot summers day! The best thing about this tea is the ME to WE campaign. Definately check this tea ouf if you havent already! And I recommend having it iced! And steep it as long as you can. The longer the better!

Like many summer teas, the taste is very good and sweet, but the addition of hibiscus is a mistake! The tangy side of it is not agreeable. I don’t like to have to add a sweetener to my tea…

A little too much hibby. But otherwise, this is a surprisingly refreshing tea! I have to wonder how it’d do cold brewed. Or in a sangria. Noms.

WOW. I got this tea to try as my free tea for buying an iced tea travel mug and my taste buds were in for a treat. Tastes just like fruit punch! Yum! I will be buying more very soon. Oh, and I love my new pink iced tea travel mug too.
When I tried to make it at home, I found 1 1/2 minutes was perfect. More than that and it was too strong.

Delicious as an iced tea, and fine as a hot tea. I like it with sweetener added so that it tastes like fruit punch or koolaid, but it’s definitely sweet enough to have without any added sweetener. The most powerful flavour is the cheery and cranberry. DavidsTEA recommends 2 perfect teaspoons of tea for iced tea, but I like to used 2 1/2 or around 3 tsps.
