Honeybush Hazelnut

I’m not sure how I feel about this tea. I love hazelnut, but am still not sure if I enjoy it in a tea. If you like hazelnut I would definitely give it a try!

I purchased the sample of this and, to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not. I am pleasantly surprised! First of all, the aroma this tea produces is INCREDIBLE! It almost smells like coffee, with a delicious nuttiness that is divine. The taste, however, is not nearly as strong as the smell – which is a GOOD thing, in my opinion, as the taste is AMAZING just as it is! It’s almost got a creaminess to it that I was not expecting! No bitterness, no aftertaste, no bad thing to say about this tea, whatsoever! A+ in my book! I will definitely be ordering more of this tea; I could see drinking this before work every morning.

Creamy and subtly sweet, reminiscent of honey with a splash of hazelnut as an aftertaste.

Herbal TTB

A very nice honey bush with a nutty taste. In all, a smooth tasty tea. I have about an ounce which I am glad for because I think I’ll enjoy this a lot. I often need a good caf. free alternative to my favorite flavored blacks.

Adagio is only about 20 miles a way so there is some chance of getting there some time for a refill.

I had 2 stashes of this tea. One stash I bought at Lollicup across the street, the other I got with a sample pack from Adagio. The stash from across the street smelled amazing. Really really hazelnut. The stash from the sample pack smelled of chemical BLAH! Before I had a chance to really determined what was going on I had dumped them together in the same container.

So I brewed a mug hoping for the best. Not undrinkable, but there is definitely a chemical funk to this one. I had really high hopes for this as I love the Hazelnut black and the first stash of tea smelled so nice. Oh well. My wallet is thanking me for a tea I don’t dig.

The hazelnut flavor here is intense, which is actually perfect because I am not sure I like honeybush without any flavoring. I think this will be even better with milk.

Overboard Traveling tea box

Hmm, I’m pleasantly surprised with this one. Unsweetened, it was something I wouldn’t mind drinking, but adding a touch of sweetener really brought the hazelnut out and covered up the remains of the rooibos taste. I wonder how this would taste with some cacao thrown in… hmmmm. Might have to keep this one for experimental purposes.

(omg the remains of the first steep with a tsp of cacao husks and a tsp of cacao nibs and some sweetener is… really yummy)

I truly liked this tea.
It reminded me of Nutella.
How can you go wrong with a tea that tastes like Nutella?

I love this tea. I bought sample baggies of Adagio’s black Hazelnut tea and this one at the same time, and this one was definitely my favourite. The black tea was quite nice and hazelnutty when brewed quite strong and then with milk and sugar, whereas this one is just wonderfully hazelnutty on its own without much fuss. No bitterness, a lot of hazelnut, and a bit of something else that gives it depth. I’d take it that’s the honeybush, but as this is the only honeybush I’ve tried, I can’t really judge. I’m sure to try more, though! I think I definitely prefer honeybush to rooibos.

That’s it! No more honeybush til I get a better infuser! It’s insane just how much of this I ended up chewing….it’s a good thing it tasted good. I think I would rather blend this with something than to drink it straight, but I was very pleasantly surprised with its flavor. It would pair wonderfully with chocolate flavors. I’m going to try making a cup of this mixed with a bit of the Cream sample that I also got from Adagio. This also makes me want to try their black tea version of hazelnut. It’s certainly nice to have a cup of this sitting nearby just to smell it!
