Peach Oolong

Flavor is decent, but unremarkable. Unfortunately, the aroma actually detracts from the experience for me. I don’t know if it’s an artificial peach flavor, or what, but it doesn’t smell like a fresh peach at all to me. More like a peach-flavored Jolly Rancher. Blech.

Prepared in Adagio IngenuiTEA teapot.

Earlier I said this was kind of weird. When I resteeped the same leaves (which I’ve never done with this tea), it was much better. I will definitely be resteeping this in the future!

This is a sipdown but apparently it wasn’t in my cupboard so the number stays the same.

Cold-brewed in the fridge for about 12 hours, 3 tsp plus a little/12 oz. I don’t know how to feel about this tea. It’s not horrible—definitely drinkable—but it’s not really good either. There’s a sort of gummy peach flavor and then that’s it. There’s very little oolong taste to it at all, and I also found out yesterday that the leaves are broken up and small. Not getting this one again.

Alright, so backlogged from this morning. Had to go to work before I write anything (did I mention I got a job! Receptionist at a vet clinic until I can get into a tech program).

This was really lovely. I was worried about the smell because it comes off as a bit strong and artificial. However, once this is brewed the flavor/smell isn’t as strong and blends really well with the oolong. I like the Taiwanese base tea, the peach goes really well with the woody flavors. Also super easy to brew, I did a second steeping as well and there were no problems with steeping it longer.

I bought this bagged for iced tea, which is very handy. This is delicious iced – sweet, fragrant and complex. Even though I live in the Land of Sweet Tea, I felt this needed no sweetening at all. I used one bag for 1 quart, and resteeped it to make a second quart. The resteep was also excellent.

Thanks to Shadowfall for this one! Haven’t tried it hot yet, but I cold-brewed it for ~8hr last night and am now enjoying it with lunch.

The dry leaf smells very strongly of peach, with no discernable dark oolong notes. (Cold) Steeped, it still smells of peach, though not quite as strong, and it smells a bit more “tea-like.” Color is a light gold. This tastes great. Fruity and very smooth. It’s sweet enough on its own that I did not add any sugar — but if you like really sweet iced teas, I bet that it would work well with sweetener, too.

Steeping this tea immediately brought back childhood memories of Peaches ‘n Cream oatmeal. While I loved my PnC oatmeal, artificial peach aroma isn’t what I look for in a tea. As for taste, a little woody, a little peach, almost no oolong flavor. Somehow the delicate vegetal taste of oolong has been overwhelmed by the weak peach flavor. Overall, an unremarkable tea. Drinkable, but boring.

I meant to drink this hot. I brewed it up, walked away and forgot. By the time I remembered, I was leaving the house, so I stuck it in the fridge to drink for later.

While I can’t comment how it was hot, this tea iced is really good! The smell of the dried leaves had a faint peach smell, but once brewed and then iced, the peach really comes out to have a very good peach taste, with some light floral-perfume sort of after taste. The actual oolong part of the tea tasted more like a black tea than what I considered to be oolong. The overall tea is excellent, and I’m tempted to just keep drinking it iced. It was most refreshing in the morning, and I can see this being a joy to drink during the summer. A really great flavored tea.

Wow! This one really puts forth that strong peach smell. Just opening the pouch to add some to the teapot made my mouth water. In normally not a fruit tea kind of guy, but this one got me going. The oolong tea alone couples it taste with the peach and I am almost positive will carry over well into a second steeping. Looking forward to it. I was really surprised by the darkness I got from this one though. Darker than normal for the oolong, but the flavors are there. Looks like a second steeping may happen in a couple hours as opposed to tomorrow morning:)

The scent was nice, and fruity. It was a good tasting tea, but too mild in peach flavour.
