43 Tasting Notes
This tea is completely disgusting. I would not have minded as much, but there is ginger in it. This is not pictured, or explained on the website. They are starting to develop a nasty habit of this type of thing. I would not recommend this tea to anyone who is expecting an unadulterated ginseng taste.
I was surprised by this tea. Lately my Yunnan experiences have been flat and boring. But this tea reminded me of what Yunnans could taste like. I guess it reminds me that Yunnan is not my favorite, but it sure ain’t bad either. So I am rambling at this point, it must be my mood today. Anyhow, I did enjoy it.
This is my first Dan Cong, so I do not have anything to compare it to.
When opening the package I was blown away by the aroma. I was worried that it might be too overwhelming in tea form, but it was very nice. I can see why so many people are drawn to this tea. I would recommend this one to any oolong lover.
The first time I tried it, I must have steeped it too long. I hated the flavor, and pushed it so far back that I forgot it was there. I brewed a cup this evening, and the taste cup was subtly sweet. I usually hate flavored green teas, but this subtle cherry flavor was a delight. I am glad that this tea was found!
Preparation
The primary infusion of this tea is incredulous. The robust smokey essence left me wanting another cup. However, subsequent infusions are a huge letdown. I tried many different combination of quantity, temperature, and time; but I was left wanting. If anyone overcame this problem, feel free to drop me a note!
Preparation
This tea is named perfectly. I love brewing a cup on Sunday mornings, and enjoying the Bourbon vanilla infused tea. The Chrysanthemum is a nice touch to the taste, and is supposed to have detox qualities. It brings a nice laid back tone to my Sundays.
Preparation
This is the company that turned me on to creamy earl greys. They did a cupping in my town, and she served the tea iced. I was a convert right away. I have tried many since then, but there is something special about her blend. The flavour of vanilla is subtle, and the bergamont is just right.
Preparation
I cannot say enough good things about this tea. The price is great, and so is the taste. I brew some of this almost daily to drink as iced tea. It is one of those unique teas that just tastes better iced than hot. (at least for me!) I recommend this one.
The difference in tea preferences among people makes me laugh sometimes. I LOVE this and even drink it highly concentrated (premium Japanese Sencha perameters). Could be because there’s ginger in it… I didn’t know that til I read this lol.
They finally changed the description to include ginger. It might increase my rating a little.
