I was so excited to get this tea! To be honest, I’m not sure if I made it properly since the caramel pieces wouldn’t melt when I pulled out the infuser. If anybody has any advice on how I can cause the caramel pieces to melt – that would be great! And I used boiling water for this too. Maybe I should use a lower temperature next time?

This smells lovely. Like a strong, predominantly sugary and caramel note. I also shook the bag to disperse the salt evenly.

Taste: This tea tastes really salty, and less sweet. And it is not like a coarse sea salt, but like a table salt flavour. It reminds me of when I sprinkled some table salt into my caramel tea to mimic a salted caramel flavour. I also got a hint of oolong.

But this tea feels like it is all aroma, but no taste. I added a heaping tablespoon of honey to this, which helped amplified the caramel note and also complemented the salty elements of this tea. I think this is a bit too salty for me, but I will try finishing it off slowly I guess.

Hello everyone!

So, how did I get into tea? I think I have always had a fascination with tea. But I really got obsessed with it after watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. I loved how Uncle Iroh used tea as a way to both practice self-care and connect with others.

I aspire to do the same through my tea endeavours.

My Favourite Canadian Small Tea Businesses: (Thus far! As I explore new tea brands, I am sure this list will grow)

Dessert by Deb
The Tea Haus
The Chai Brewing Company

My Preferred Preparation:
For black teas, I prefer the stove-top method with milk and sugar. For all other teas and herbal infusions, I usually prefer having them hot without any add-ins. However, I do like an occasional iced tea! Especially for some fruity or floral blends.

My Tea Preferences:
I enjoy flavoured teas more than straight teas; however, I do have a soft spot for traditional green or oolong teas.

Favourite Flavours:
- Masala chai (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and other warming spices!)
- Cream
- Mint
- Tropical fruit (lychee, mango, pineapple)
- Maple
- Orange
- Roasted/smokey
- Caramel
- Floral (especially jasmine)
- Honey
- Nuts (hazelnut, almond)
- Sweet potato
- Fall fruits (apples, cranberries)
- Earl Grey
- Vanilla bean

Least Liked Flavours:
- Anything that tastes too artificial (especially vanilla or chocolate!)

- Tart (too much hibiscus)

- Ginseng

- Guarana powder

- Coconut oil (or oily teas)

- Red rooibos
