814 Tasting Notes
Second time I’m logging this. My sister brought some back from her trip to Europe 3+ years ago. I’ve been hoarding the tea bags she gave me and finally drank some this weekend. I had a great productive weekend! But didn’t do anything I should have done. Saw an awesomely staged satellite opera on Saturday, Agrippina.
Still – let’s just assume that this tea helped me get things done!
Made a carafe of this for iced tea. I’m sure it will be delicious and hydrating when I ice it up.
I have a lot of tea to drink before I’m allowed to buy any more. Large carafes of ice tea is one way I’m trying to get through my overflowing cupboard.
In other news… I’m attending a 4 week pottery wheel class starting Friday’s I keep making jokes that everyone’s gonna get penholders!!! Yay! But I’m secretly aiming to make some modern, fun tea mugs.
Haven’t seen you around in a while; hi! We seem to have the same tea-elimination plan :D
One of my friends took a pottery class with her boyfriend a couple years ago, and they had a fabulous time making all sorts of things. Im not terribly artistic, but I think it would be delightful to drink tea out of a mug I made myself.
I got this from Anna’s Tea Shop because I loved Della Terras and they’re the same. I love this one too!
I bought this in April 2016 and I admit I’ve been hoarding it!
I’ve been enjoying drinking from my Harney Royal Palaces Teapot, Teacup & Saucer. It pours like a dream.
Did you know the screentime app on your apple devices can be set up to lock you out of apps during specific times of the day? The default setting is to have you phone kick you out at 10p and allow you back at 7a, for instance.
Anyways.
I have a lot of tea to drink.
Today for breakfast I drank mango! Yummmm
Do you like the screentime app doing this? What’s your experience with it? I’m trying to get a feel for your experience.
It’s been helpful! I mean, it’s only been a week really, but I’m sure my viewing of trash tv has been reduced haha. There is the option to “ignore” the screen tile restriction. You can choose to ignore it for the rest of the day, or for 15 min and then get a reminder. Even if I do select the 15 min option, it does help make me more aware of the decision I’m making.
Oh interesting! So I was just trying to log David’s Chocolate Orange tea, and the website wouldn’t let me. So I decided to try logging another one and it’s working fine. Idk what that means really. But HI!! I drank lots of tea this week!
I saw the page you’re having issues with. To fix it, scroll down the weird page to the “Edit Tea Info” link, click and you’ll go to the update tea page. You don’t have to change any information about the tea, just click Update Tea at the bottom, and that will set the page back to normal, where you can then review the tea!
Noooooooooo !! Say it’s not true!!
I just now learned that American Tea Room is closed. Where am I gonna buy Brioche now!? There’s no other tea like it.
Dangit I always feel bad for buying too much tea at one time. But there are those few teas that I never get tired of and it always feels special to drink.
I’ll buck up and look forward to searching for Brioche 2.0. I’m sure there are a few to choose from.
Onward into 2019!
I don’t know if you’ve tried Almond Sugar Cookie from Simpson & Vail, but I believe it has very similar ingredients.

@Nattie – It was not me, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Although Almond Sugar Cookie doesn’t mention being organic and there’s no cinnamon listed?
who gave me this sample? when did i drink this sample?
did it arrive through the mail? or did i get it from a fancon? or did i nab it from a restaurant? i don’t remember…
but now, i have a tasting note to edit, a spot saved, for when i do recall the facts.
i’m cleaning my kitchen, and listening to All The Single Ladies by Rebecca Traister.
There are maybe 3 teas from Della Terra that I will always always miss, but this Vanilla Tea isn’t one of them!! Cuz I buy it in large quantities from Anna Marie’s.
I drink it every week. several times a week. usually days in a row.
I even mix it with other teas on occasion. to make the other teas better. : )
I just joined Audible for the first time and then binged Robert Webb’s memoir “How Not To Be A Boy” and he said Numberwang in the book! he also said Wanganumb. I laughed sooooo hard.
Dustin – I agree. Lime Chiffon was so delicious. I think I have a tiny bit left because I’m hoarding it.
Careful with the hoarding on that one, Kittenna. The citrus will turn on you after a while. I sadly had to dump the rest of my Lime Chiffon after letting it sit to long. It went flat and had a bitter tinge. :(
I have a lot of sample tea given to me by the Steepster community that I STILL have saved after all these years. I know some of the samples won’t be good still, but some of them def still are.
I kept them in the dark, dry, and I kept them protected.
The story is, I recently hired an adhd organizer team to come help me. It’s changed my life.
I got rid of a lot of tea and tea samples, but I also kept some. And maybe now I’ll have the bandwidth to actually taste and document the teas.
Fingers crossed.
Good to see you back, Shmiracles! I myself have used the word BANDWIDTH today, though sadly not applied to tea (I wish. haha).
Hahaha yay!
You mentioning word choice makes me think of wordle. I’m obsessed.
I hope to get through these samples and get my tea organized before the professional organizers return in 6 months. OPTIMISTIC!!
Good luck on the organizing!
That organizing team sounds awesome, Schmiracles! Wordle is a big deal in our family. My first words from my husband most mornings are “got it in four.” And if he didn’t do Wordle before leaving for work, it is the first text of the day!
