When I’m working at the college and I’ve forgotten my tea this is what I order-except I always ask for the bag separate because if they put it in their crazy hot water it BURNS the leaves and it tastes bitter and horrible. Once I let the water cool off for 10-20 min I then steep it quickly and after that it’s decent. It’s not the best tea but it works in a pinch.

Oversteeped & scalded green tea from Tim Hortons had me convinced that I didn’t actually like green tea very much for the longest time.
I was in the same boat as you when I starting drinking green tea since I made it like black/herbal teas. Luckily a lady a DAVID’s tea set me straight in how to make it :)
That’s a good idea actually! I’ve always hated the tea I’ve ordered from Tim Hortons, but now that you mention it, it might not be the fault of the actual tea. I also burned my green tea for years before learning that it wasn’t supposed to taste so bitter.
The tea isn’t actually that bad-it’s standard green tea with lemon grass ground up and although not high quality it’s decent. It’s just their water is always crazy scalding hot.
That is true. Next time I’ll ask for the bag separately and wait a bit. I believe the first tea I ever drank was actually a Tim Hortons steeped tea loaded with milk and sugar. I’m not sure if I could stomach that bitter, oversteeped, oversweetened mess these days.
I totally agree. It reminds me of my church-after the service they make (black) tea and coffee. I can’t drink coffee so one day I tried drinking their tea (they put 2 tea bags in a carafe with boiling water and leave it). I literally took one sip and dumped the rest out in the sink because it was so bitter and horrible. Not to be ungrateful but I’m my stomach can’t hand bitter, over steeped tea either.
