Have you ever been hit by a sudden tea revelation? Here I was, sipping my chai and watching Once Upon A Time and suddenly my brain was like, “HEY you got a sample of Jasmine Cream months ago! I want it!” Honestly, I had totally forgotten about it and it was at the very bottom of my sample basket (which has actually expanded into a sample basket and a giant bag as well).

So after much digging I managed to find it and was overwhelmed with the delicious smell. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this or not so I only got a sample, but I’m kind of regretting it now. Then again they have free shipping so I guess I could just order some!

Jasmine is often an overwhelming flavor, but it works so well here. I thought this was a black base instead of a black/green so steeped it with boiling water for 4 1/2 minutes… oops! Well, it didn’t come out bitter at all so I guess there’s not a whole lot of green in here. It really does taste like just a black base, with the floral jasmine tempered by yummy vanilla. Such a weirdly unique blend! It kind of takes some getting used to, but the floral and cream really do work together beautifully.

oh. no. I should not have just looked up New Mexico Tea Co.

Kittenna

Cool! I definitely just grabbed a sample of this exact tea from Sil – interested to be trying it soon!

Thought process: “New Mexico Tea Co, I should look them up! Nah, i should probably just not”. Scroll down, see Tea Sipper comment. “Ok, fine!!” *runs to google

Haha, I definitely recommend NMTC. They have free shipping always and sell in one ounce quantities, so it’s pretty cheap to try out a few different flavors that you are interested in.

Claire

I’ve been eyeing NMTC lately too. Have you tried their Irish Breakfast?

Alphakitty

Nope, I’ve only tried a few from them but I am planning on placing another order soon!

Tea has always been a passion of mine, though I got away from it during college. A lack of cupboard space and a constant influx of people into my suite made me pretty much abandon my teas at home. But now that I’m done with school, it’s definitely come back with a vengeance—to the point where I’ve purchased about 65 different kinds in the past 3 months!

I like most kinds of teas—yes, even peach, which I used to think I disliked!. Oolongs are definitely my favorite, and I’m an avid fan of earl grey, floral teas, and chai blends along with anything melon. The only kind of teas on my “no” list are rooibos blends (which gives me headaches) and banana flavored ones since bananas are public enemy #1 in my mind.

The best thing about tea for me is how you can be passionate about it and still have it integrate into all of your other hobbies. I like a lot of things: writing, video games, books, sewing, figure collecting, astronomy… it’s a long list. But whatever I’m doing, I can have a cup of tea in hand!
