This tea is so smooth & sweet – it’s the perfect marshmallow tea! It tastes like a cup of a fine-quality black tea – rich & malty – with a homemade marshmallow that melted into it. So creamy. So marshmallow-y delicious!
Tea of the Week for August 7, 2023!
This amazing tea starts with a Wild Arbor Assamica black tea. I added Marshmallow & Vanilla essence as well as some marshmallow root. The taste is SMOOTH, rich black tea with the sweetness of marshmallow & the creaminess of vanilla. There’s a slight woodsy note from the marshmallow – it’s mellow but adds an interesting element to the overall flavor of the cup.
This one won’t be around long – it’s just that good! Because this is a base that I don’t often have in my inventory, it’s not one that I’ll be reblending any time soon – so if you want this – you should grab some now!
ingredients: black tea, organic marshmallow root & organic natural flavors
to brew: I highly recommend giving the pouch a shake before you measure it out. As you will see when you open the pouch, the tea leaves are HUGE. As a result, the marshmallow root bits sift their way to the bottom of the pouch & you want some of those in your measurement (otherwise, when you get to the bottom of the pouch, you’ll have mostly marshmallow root & with just a little bit of tea leaves!)
Measure out 3g of leaf to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before you start enjoying! Believe me, it’s worth the wait!
serving suggestion: I generally prefer my vanilla and/or marshmallow teas served hot, this tea is no exception. It would make a fine iced tea too, but I recommend drinking this one while it’s still warm. I didn’t need any additions with this tea to thoroughly enjoy it – however, with just a teensy bit of raw sugar (less than ½ a teaspoon), the marshmallow notes really pop.
