1965 Tasting Notes
Sipdown 37 – 2024
Didd not expect how reddish brown this steep would be, considering how green the dry leaf is. This smells so unique – spinachy, but also really floral (like lilac). Super umami broth. Like a veggie stew.
Flavors: Artichoke, Lilac, Mushrooms, Spinach, Umami
Sipdown 36 – 2024
I don’t drink a ton of green tea anymore, but a few weeks ago suddenly got this urge to have some. I didn’t really have any on hand, so of course had to make a Yunomi purchase (also pre-ordered some One River Tea 2024 harvest).
This was the first on deck. It’s nice! Mostly getting roasted seaweed with a touch of cooked greens.
Flavors: Seaweed, Spinach
This is so tasty. Lots of dried fruit, raisins. A touch of starchiness- like taro. Also some spices- cinnamon, clove. It’s reminding me of a mince pie or plum pudding. I did find this was quite mild unless I used quite a lot of dry leaf and brewed at 205degrees.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Clove, Dried Fruit, Plum, Raisins, Taro Root
