Jasmine Tea Pearls Mo Li Hua

A really wonderful Jasmine pearl, one of the best Jasmine Pearl teas that I’ve tried. Very aromatic, but without tasting perfume-y. Delicious, exotic, and soothing.

Oh my goodness. I don’t typically like jasmine teas but this isn’t overly floral. Thank you, Tea Pet, for the sample. You’ve changed my stance on jasmine teas!

Backlog & Sipdown (96)! I had this the other evening, which in retrospect was not such a good idea because I stayed up a few more hours than I had intended, oops! I’m not such a huge fan of jasmine teas in general because they tend to be too perfume-y to me. This one definitely smelled very perfume-y while it was steeping. However, when I actually tasted the tea, the jasmine flavor was not as perfume-y as I had expected it to be. Still a little much for me, but nice enough that I could finish the cup and even resteep it once. Plus, there was no astringency, which is also something else that puts me off of a lot of other jasmine teas. I won’t be repurchasing only because I don’t really like jasmine, but it provided some very lovely cups of tea while I had it!

Quite easily the best jasmine tea I’ve had! There is no astringency whatsoever and the jasmine is so floral and smooth. This is one of three samples I requested from Yezi. I didn’t know what to expect but I’m quite pleased. The packaging is very cute yet simplistic, and I enjoyed the little hand written note and happy face from the owner. :) Thank you!

I am brand new to loose leaf tea and this was my first cup. I’m sure part of the joy came from the novelty of brewing without a bag, but I really enjoyed this tea. I love the smell of jasmine and this tea was sweet with it, even after several steepings. I spent a lot of time with my nose over my tea cup. The taste was sweet and smooth, and I look forward to trying it again after I’ve had a bit more experience.

I have never had a pearled/loose leaf Jasmine tea until I drank this tonight. That infrequency will soon change. This was an exquisite introduction to this style of tea and now has me on the Jasmine pearl bandwagon.

The scent upon opening the bag was heavenly. I was a bit concerned with the smell being overpowering in the taste but this was not an issue. The jasmine flavor is very delicate and balanced while the scent remains strong on the nose. I brewed this gong fu and was able to get 8 very consistently wonderful steeps. The flavor is never perfume driven. What else to say about this? I believe I mentioned the word heavenly and that is what I keep coming back to. I keep sticking my nose in empty vessels that this tea has recently vacated, bringing the lid of my gaiwan to nostrils in hopes of capturing the scent to access whenever I would wish.

I really want to order a large bag of this tea. It is now on my list to do so.

I could tell even from the fragrance that there wasn’t as much jasmine as I love and prefer. Those Teavivre jasmine teas are tough to top in that department. I used the entire sample – 1 3/4 teaspoons. It didn’t seem to be overleafed at all. But the flavor is lovely and sweet — candy! I guess enough jasmine to drown out the light green flavor. But then the second steep! Just perfect. Much more jasmine, hints of the amazing green tea flavor peeking through while not being bitter. It tasted like it would be a perfect green tea even without the jasmine. I should have went for a third steep but it was late.

What an incredible jasmine tea! If I haven’t made it clear by now, jasmines are one of my favorite kinds of teas. I love floral flavors to begin with, but there’s something about the taste and smell of jasmine that I just love. This one is absolutely wonderful; light, just on the edge between floral and sweet, and not bitter at all. I was actually concerned that I had oversteeped this or brewed it too hot (it’s so hard to tell with jasmines), but this is so smooth! I would love to have it in my collection.

I’m pretty easy to satisfy as far as jasmine green teas go, so choosing this as a sample from Yezi felt like a safe bet, and as it turns out I was correct.

Opening the packet, there’s a really nice jasmine aroma, just purely floral and fairly strong. Upon brewing, the same aroma persists — they’re not playing around with the jasmine here!

The actual liquor has a surprisingly light taste considering the strength of the scent — it’s not bad, especially for a tea that’s advertised as being good for multiple steeps, just more subtle than I expected. It stands on its own without sweetener, which I don’t always find true of floral teas, probably because the green tea isn’t the slightest bit bitter. Just a nice soft, smooth jasmine.

I don’t feel like this is dramatically different from other jasmine greens, but it’s an excellent version and one of my favorites.

This is the second tea that I got as a free sample from Yezi Tea (yay free samples!). The smell of the dry leaf is amazing, floral and sweet. Let me just say, I am rather confused as to what exactly is meant when the word “teaspoon” is used in tea jargon. Does it mean a teaspoon measuring spoon or a teaspoon as in a flatware teaspoon…? If anyone could help me out on this with a comment, I would appreciate it. So when I brewed this tea, I basically said “screw it” and used the whole five gram sample. Since this is a fairly dense tea, I would say it would have been a slightly heaping flatware teaspoon.

That being said, I thought the strength of the brew was perfect. The jasmine aroma and flavor is quite strong, but I could still taste the delicate green tea flavor underneath. I’m not sure what type of green tea it is or whether jasmine pearls count as their own type. Either way, I really enjoyed its flavor – slightly sweet and light with no bitterness and very little astringency. I took it with a very small amount of sugar.
