Description

An old Chippewa legend says that a long time ago a mother bear and her two cubs had to flee from the Wisconsin shore to evade a large forest fire. They all swam Lake Michigan and when the mother bear reached land she lay there waiting for her cubs. She waited and waited but her cubs never came. She lies there today as the Sleeping Bear Dunes waiting for her cubs – the Manitou Islands.

North Manitou Island is an unpopulated island 12 miles off the shores of the Sleeping Bear Bay. It is home to coyotes, beavers, deer, chipmunks, and a large variety of birds, all living as one. The mornings are serene and calm, the days are perfectly peaceful. It’s one stretch of wilderness that is perfectly maintained and WILD.

Early in the morning during springtime on North Manitou, you get a fog through the trees with shattered sunrise sparkling the dew-dropped spiderwebs. With the fresh scent of flowers and berries and a Wood Thrush’s flutelike song sending chills down your spine, a North Manitou sunrise is tranquil, it is powerful, and it is free.

Manitou Mist is a heavenly blend made on the single idea of tranquility. The rich dark golden-grey brew is possibly the most tranquil morning cup imaginable. With sweet notes from the safflower (my absolute favorite smell and one of my favorite tastes) and the perfect aftertaste of elderberries, you will be there in the tranquil morning Manitou Island mist.

This tranquil state will forever be mine, and I give you the option to have it too.

Both safflower and elderberries have been used to treat fevers and coughs. In addition, safflower has been used to calm and soothe the nerves and thus promote relaxation, and elderberries have been used to treat allergies, arthritis, and to detoxify the body.
