First planted in 1852, the Puttabong Estate is notable as one of the first tea gardens in Darjeeling. The Kakra designation on this 2017 organic second flush selection refers to a leaf that’s been visited by the Indian Green Fly, whose ministrations cause an initial oxidation before plucking. The aroma is very fragrant, with hints of almond and flowers. The dark amber liquor has a smooth, rich mouth feel with a sweet flavor hinting of stone fruit and honey.
