“This is the last of my first flush darjeeling samples from Upton. sniff I should have purchased them all! I’m not sure where my tea thermometer is (again) but this was steeped at well below...” Read full tasting note
This early 2012 selection is an attractive, well-made tea, with dark olive leaves, laced with delicate white tips and a smattering of brown leaf pieces. The cup has a gentle character with mild pungency and interesting grape flavor notes. The aroma is fresh and inviting. Early lots of Darjeeling teas are very small this year due to a lack of rain, so supply is limited.
