Tielka’s finest pu-erh tea, Ancient Shu Palace (2009, Fairtrade Organic) renders an intense espresso-like character with a full body, reminiscent of smooth molasses and earthy autumn leaves. Produced using the Shu Cha or “cooked” method, this delicacy consists of the youngest leaves and buds which are tightly rolled to ensure the gradual release of more complex flavours in subsequent brews.
This tea has been hand-harvested by artisan farmers from ancient tea gardens located in Yunnan, a province of China home to the world’s oldest tea culture and the only region to produce authentic pu-erh varieties.
