“[Spring 2020 harvest] I love the relaxing energy and refined aromatics of this tea. At first it smells as a mix of coffee, peat, fireplace, and guava. Then, during the session, we get pretty unique...” Read full tasting note
2021 harvest:
Excellent old tree yancha from Lian Hua Feng in the heart of Wuyi Mountain.
Tea was roasted 4 times during the spring, summer and late autumn. It was ready to be ordered at the end of 2021. We ordered few kilos from our friend and farmer.
Thick, mineral, powerful tea with excellent balance between dark chocolate, woody, moss notes and pleasant floral nuances.
Medium roasted – significantly less than our 2020 Lao Cong Shui Xian.
2020 harvest:
One of the best Shui Xians we have ever had! Deeply mineral and powerful. Woody and mossy with incense like notes- what is typical for good Shui Xian. But the most interesting are excellent notes of dried fruits and flowers. Like a good elegant perfumes.
Roasted 4 times on our custom order.
Overall feeling: this is dark and deep tea with really strong energy and well pronounced “yan yun” (rock taste/flavor coming from the volcanic soil the bushes grow on).
Anyway whole 2020 harvest in Wuyishan seems to be really excellent.
This Shui Xian is roasted little bit stronger than 2019 one we had.
Roasting notes will mellow during next months of “resting”.
