From The Devotea

Wonderful black tea, gorgeous rose petals and genuine sliced vanilla pods. Yes, it’s a good as it sounds. Black, it’s quite savoury. With milk and sugar, it’s like the world’s best hot milkshake! 2oz packet

I bought myself the 15 tea sampler from the Devotea. I was gonna just order some Lord Petersham, then I started looking around at the website, & decided to try everything out first. This is the first one I’m trying. The aroma of the leaf is very vanilla, & a blush of rose. The cup of tea was nice, especially for late afternoon. The flavor is more of a vanilla black tea, not a lot of rose, & I’ll need to use more leaf next time, as it could have been stronger (but that was due to my underleafing). Luckily, the sample is generous enough that I’ll be able to try again. Meanwhile, it was a lovely tea to enjoy with scones.

Thank you Sil and Terri for letting me try a cup of this!

I’m not usually into rose teas but this one is nice. The floral notes aren’t too strong and they are nicely balanced against the sweet caress of vanilla.

I’m going to have to side with terri on this one. While this scarily is name rose blush, and there are pretty little roses in this blend, once brewed it’s pretty much a cup of vanilla black. Not that i mind that because i DO like vanilla blacks, but the name is misleading. :) I didn’t think i’d like this one but given the lack of “rose” flavour, i’m ok with it…but minus points for not living up to the name!

It might be worth trying again with a little sugar. Unless you use an artificial flavour, rose tends to be more savoury. This one was originally invented for a place that specialised in Barbie and Princess parties for little girls. Once you add milk and sugar it becomes basically a warm milkshake: a great introduction to tea for young kids.
