Also known as Zucha or Pearl Tea, this gunpowder is dried in rolling drums that constantly rotate the leaves to give the tea its spherical form, similar to gunpowder. It has a tangy and earthy flavor and is used at Samar by Stephen Pyles in two different blends, one of which involves ceremonially mixing cardamom pods with brewed tea for the Afghan tea ceremony.
This is labeled a “Cultured Cup” tea by The Cultured Cup. Brew at 175 F for 3 minutes.
