“Prepared western style with one teaspoon of tea with boiling water. - Well, this is a wonderful Darjeeling I can say. Easy to drink, with notes of caramel and butterscotch. In aroma I smelled also...” Read full tasting note
An exceptional 2nd Flush from the Giddapahar Tea Estate in Darjeeling. Made exclusively from a section of pure China varietal tea bushes, genetic descendants of the first tea bushes planted in Darjeeling, this tea delivers the characteristic muscatel flavours of a 2nd Flush Darjeeling. The deeper firing that Giddapahar is known for adds an unexpected complexity; smooth, refined, with sweet caramel notes and a gentle toastiness in the middle of the flavour profile. I hope you will agree with me that this is a memorable tea, perfect for savouring on its own or with cake. I would recommend drinking this tea without milk.
Valerie was fortunate enough to visit the Giddapahar Tea Estate on her recent trip to India, and met with the tea manager, Mr Sharma, who produced this exceptional 2nd Flush tea. Read more about Valerie’s visit to the Giddapahar Tea Estate and this tea in our blog.
