“This is one of the best sencha teas I’ve had. It has a soft, creamy texture and a well balanced taste with a mild sour bite. Its character is bready and floral with a very sweet finish.” Read full tasting note
An excellent class of deep-steamed tea from an area that boasts a centuries-old history of tea growing. This year and its temperatures are again favorable for the Saemidori cultivar, so we could not miss one of the teas, which was one of your favorites last season, but this year it is even deeper steamed, ie sweeter and denser. It is produced by tea “master” Orio Kazufumi, who with his teas regularly receives high ratings from prestigious tea competitions in Japan. Its appearance is smaller, typical of deeply steamed teas and after pouring it gives us a bright green infusion color, which resembles the color of sprouting tea leaves. The taste is full, dense, fresh with a creamy texture and minimal bitterness. The sweet and umami taste is felt all over the mouth, which is typical of Saemidori, which has a high amino acid content as a cultivar. The aroma is typically springy, lively, slightly grassy, rich with a milky texture. With proper preparation, it is possible to prepare several intensive infusions (up to 5) and even at high water temperatures, tea will not punish you with higher astringency. Delicious fukamushi sencha!
