Description

Feel like I just woke up from a wild dream. Been very busy – with work – moving a new roommate in – friend’s issues – I think I’m ready to settle down again.
I got the Hawaii Hand-Made from the World Tea Expo from Jane Pettigrew’s class on Unusual Black Teas. Jane listed it as Hawaii Hand-Made Black tea from the Tea Hawaii & Company. Brewing recommendations: .11 oz (3 grams) in 7-8 fl oz (200 ml) water at 208 F(98C) for 3 minutes.
The dry leaves: 1st thing I noticed was they are very long and string like; has an veggie smell to them. When wet, they look like chocolate or rust color and extended longer.
The tastes was not as full as I would expect a black tea to taste. If I had to compare the Kenilworth tea with this, I would have this is less strong in tastes.
I tried 3 – 8 oz cups, 1st w/o anything, 2nd w/ 1 cube of sugar & last w/ both milk & cane sugar. 1st two were the better but will have to try the 3rd again because I added way too much of everything. Sugar & Milk water – Yuck.
Jane listed the method of Manufacture: Plucking, Withering, Rolling in cloths, Oxidising for up to 3 days (depending on the weather), Drying.
Tea Plant: Varieties grown are from Cambodian & Chinese-Assam cross
