Description

This green oolong tea is amongst the top and most famous teas in China. It is a more delicate tea than some of its more oxidized counterparts. Iron Goddess of Mercy tea is one that you can start a tradition of tea drinking with. It is great as an everyday tea, if you are looking for a more delicate while yet distinctive tea. Iron Goddess of Mercy tea is semi-oxidized and harvested in later spring. The large leaves of Iron Goddess of Mercy tea undergo a complex process of rolling and twisting, so that the tea juices can react with air and gain a unique “orchid” like aroma, and a long lasting aftertaste. This tea is truly a darling in China, maybe that is why it was lovingly given a name of Buddhist Bodhisattva, Tieguanyin, or otherwise known Iron Goddess of Mercy. As for oxidation, Iron Goddess of Mercy tea falls closer to green tea on the scale than do some of its counterpart Oolong teas. We found this great quality Iron Goddess of Mercy on one of our recent trips to China and subsequently secured it and brought it here for you to enjoy. Caffeine – low to medium. Ingredients: 100% whole leaf tea; Origin: Fujian Province, China.
