An exquisite blend made from the Seimei cultivar from Chiran region of Kagoshima Prefecture. Creamy texture, unique nutty-umami flavors.
This blend is sourced from Chiran, Kagoshima Prefecture made with Seimei cultivar, a new tea plant cultivar that has not yet entered commercial production. Through our growing connections in the tea industry, we were able to bridge innovative tea growers and tea blending experts to generate a limited edition blend that is sure to please matcha enthusiasts all over the world. Only 40kg of this blend was produced in 2019 and it was initially meant to be a limited edition matcha. Thankfully, due to the overwhelming response, we have secured production for an additional year.
Enjoy a one of a kind matcha experience with its eye catching vibrant green pigment and delicious notes. It has such a smooth and very creamy texture with pleasant nutty flavors.

This one felt a little sacrilegious to drink as a latte, but oh well. It’s an extra fancy matcha in an extra elegant black tin with gold accents. This was actually gifted to me by Naoki in return for a review, which I did on Instagram at some point. I should really be better about making sure I post on Steepster as well when I do that…
Anyway, obviously it makes a scrumptious iced latte as well. Super duper nutty, creamy, and smooth with a concentrated vegetal-umami flavor. I probably won’t purchase it again, but that’s just because I’ve only been making lattes and it feels like a waste to use this matcha for that.
