Origin – Xingcun, Wuyishan (Ban Yan)
The name Dahongpao is nowadays often used to indicate yancha blends of various grade, as it is more famous than the name yancha itself being tied to legends and advertisments. However what is often found in these is often not related to the most famous of the yancha varieties. Qi Dan and Bei Dou are the more precise names of the actual cultivars considered “dahongpao” and being propagated from the famous mother bushes.
We got here a pure unblended Qi Dan tea that is already a few years old and at this stage developed a unique fragrance. With a nice huigan (sweet aftertaste) at every steep and a smooth mouth feeling this tea is both a pleasure to drink and an interesting chance to try out what is ultimately the flavor of tea made purely from one of the dahongpao cultivars.
