DISCRETE is a ripe (shou) puer tea from southern Yunnan.
Amongst countless ripe teas of various grades sampled during our travels, this one held its own against them all. The tea is smooth, sweet, and clean, with a creamy, warming mouthfeel and lingering cinnamon-sweet aftertaste.
The base material is of standout quality and character, and was pile fermented in 2016, meaning the fermentation flavours have dissipated and the tea is ready to drink right away. Both an excellent introduction to ripe puer and a solid tea to add to daily rotation.
The tea was pressed in November 2017. Each cake is 200g.
