China Jasmine with Petals is a classic scented tea. Jasmine tea has been a favourite in China for thousands of years and can be traced back to the Song Dynasty ( A.D. 960 – 1279). The beautiful sweet smelling jasmine flowers are picked early in the morning so they are fresh. They’re then kept cool throughout the day so as to delay the flowers from opening too soon. As evening falls, the flowers are laid next to the green tea and left. It only takes about 4 hours for the green tea to absorb the jasmine scent. The process is repeated several times until the desired level of scent in the tea is reached. The blossoms are either removed or as in the case of our China Jasmine, the petals are mixed with the tea to create an attractive appearance that is matched by the fine taste.
