Now here is a blend that came about by accident! The story is that one of our regulars at the shop asked Dan to blend up a black tea similar to one they had tried in France that had vanilla. Dan was inspired by the French lavender fields to add a hint of this in the blend, along with a premium vanilla combined in a Sri Lankan tea base. What he didn’t expect was the surprise flavour when he stored it in a tin to allow the flavours to rest. After a few days when he came back to revisit and nose the tea it has a nice minty finish to it. But how. It turns out that the tin housed peppermint and the oils still remained in the tin to fragrance the leaves.
Dan decided to sample this tea to his customers and it was a hit! So going forward Black Lavender tea has always contained a hint of peppermint.
