This Assam black tea is from the Satrupa Estate in the Doom Dooma tea belt of Upper Assam in
India. Assam teas are known for being full bodied, and having a malty component. This tea has both
of these characteristics but also with layers of complexity. The tea leaves when dry are a lovely black and brown crinkly mix. The aroma of tea leaves (both dry and after infusion) are inviting. Cocoa powder, and malt are in the forefront. A strong full flavored cup with layers of more cocoa powder, dark chocolate, honey, delicious black tea and malt are rounded out with a bit of astringency. Clean and well balanced with a long, long finish. Takes well to milk and sugar.
