From Chen Sheng Hao Tea

Since 2006, Chen Sheng Hao has been investing in the Yi Wu tea area, the blessed land of Pu’er tea.

The 2006 “Yi Wu Zheng Shan” was the first product published by Chen Sheng Hao using tea leaves from Yi Wu in 2006. The “Yi Wu Da Shu” in 2008 made Chen Sheng Hao famous for its Yi Wu tea in the tea industry. The subsequent products such as “Yi Wu Yuan Cha” and “Yi Wu” are the continuation of this classic series from Chen Sheng Hao.

The 2019 “Yi Wu Zheng Shan” tea cakes are round, clean, and moderately tight. The tea buds are evenly distributed inside the tea cake. The tea leave is thick and plump, with tea vellus exposed. The flower aroma is strong. The tea soup is soft and has an aftertaste sweetness.

Gongfu!

Just finished enjoying a session of one of the raw pu’erh that was gifted to me by this company. I started with the 2019 Yiwu Da Shu because, as many know, I have a particular love and affinity for tea from this region – especially ones with that syrupy sweet fruity liquor!! Yiwu teas are so good for lazy Sunday moods.

This is excellent; it’s quite smooth and approachable without any astringency. Very much like sinking your teeth into a just overripe pear; the kind so juicy, sweet and tender that it practically melts in your mouth. I’m also getting white peach and candied lemon peel, with just a bit of a floral undertone. It’s so soft and well rounded! I do not foresee this sample lasting me very long at all!
