Black General? Haven’t heard of this one before? Don’t worry, because I made up this name! I’ll admit, on occasions I will make up my own tea names and of course this awesome tea needs an awesome name! If you enjoy our Blue People Oolong teas, you’ll definitely get a kick out of this one. During one of my buying trips last year in Taiwan, I asked the tea master that made and created our Blue People Oolongs if it were possible to do a heavy roasting to create a more robust and strong roasted aroma. I was telling him that a lot of people enjoy a dark roasted aroma, kind of like a French Roast with coffee, and that if we could recreate a similar dark roasted aroma with Blue People, it will be totally awesome! The tea master accepted my challenge using high quality Oolong leaves and created this Oolong tea with the traditional Taiwanese roasting methods, followed with a little bit of ginseng and liqourice. Ba La Bing – Ba La Boom, a legend was created! And his name is the “Black General” !
