The higher the number, the higher the heat. For example, bell and banana peppers rank low, at under 1,000 SHUs. The Carolina Reaper on the other hand, has 1.5 million SHUs. That’s one hot pepper! We like to keep things a little cooler with our tea, but don’t worry, it still packs a spicy punch.
