Tea of the Week for September 18, 2017!
If the name of this tea doesn’t give it away, my inspiration behind this blend was Autumn – or more specifically – getting summer over with already so we could start enjoying the cooler days of Autumn. Those who have read my reviews of the past are probably aware that Autumn is my favorite season — I love the colors of autumn (I’m an artist so I find myself very inspired by colors) and I also love the drop in temperature and the fact that hot tea tastes so much better when it’s cooler outside. I mean, seriously? What’s not to love about Autumn?
It’s my opinion that both honeybush and rooibos tend to be an autumnal type of herb, especially the oxidized versions of both which is what I utilized in this blend. I combined the two and added two of the fruits that I consider ‘autumnal’ fruits: pear and apple. Finally, no blend celebrating autumn would be complete with a touch of spice, amirite? So I added some cinnamon, ginger, freshly shaved nutmeg, cardamom (I crushed some of those pods to help release the flavor) and allspice (again, I crushed some of the allspice berries to release the flavor).
organic ingredients: honeybush, rooibos, ginger, cinnamon, apples, pears, cardamom, allspice, nutmeg & natural flavors
